The 2025 application process for the National Internship Program, organized by the Presidential Human Resources Office, has officially begun. National Internship Program, provides internship, job-shadowing, and career preparation training opportunities across a diverse range of sectors through the participation of public institutions, universities, and private sector organizations. Applications will be remain open until February 28, 2025.

Since its establishment in 2019, over 1.25 million students have applied for the National Internship Program, and 800,000 students have benefited from internship opportunities. More than 5,000 public institutions and over 2,000 private sector organizations are involved in the program, providing young individuals with the opportunity to closely engage with institutions and professions. The program, which is cited as a best practice by the OECD for its member countries, supports young individuals in their preparation for the professional world and serves as a vital model for nurturing a skilled labor force.

Ensuring Equal Opportunity and Transparency for Internship Experience

The National Internship Program is conducted through a transparent and impartial evaluation process, offering career opportunities to young people based on the principle of equal opportunity. Applicants' academic, professional, artistic, social, and athletic skills are assessed, while keeping their identity information confidential, ensuring employers focus solely on the competencies of candidates. Internship opportunities are available within Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and abroad, through public institutions, ministries, embassies, and consulates of Türkiye.

Applications are Managed Through the Career Gate Platform

Applications for the National Internship Program are submitted via "Career Gate" a national digital platform integrated with e-Devlet. Eligible applicants include students who are enrolled in full-time education at universities in Türkiye, as well as Turkish citizens or Blue Card holders who are enrolled in full-time education at universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) or abroad, and who are under the age of 35 as of January 1, 2025. Students pursuing undergraduate degrees must be in their second, third, or fourth year, while those in associate degree programs must be in their first or second year. Additionally, Turkish citizens or Blue Card holders pursuing master’s or doctoral studies at universities abroad are eligible to apply. Artificial Intelligence Model “FARUK” Reviews Applications

In 2024, the National Internship Program introduced a new artificial intelligence based application process. In this context, documents submitted by applicants are reviewed by an artificial intelligence model named FARUK, which identifies any possible errors. FARUK, which guides applicants through email notifications regarding incorrect or incomplete documents, aims to raise awareness and prevent similar mistakes in future applications.. The name FARUK signifies the ability to distinguish right from wrong, and Faruk’s goal is to enhance transparency and efficiency in the application process, thereby improving the overall experience for internship candidates.
