The "National Internship Program" program, coordinated by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office, in collaboration with our ministries, affiliated, related, and associated institutions, and voluntary employers from the private sector, with the support of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, is now being launched for university students.

Participating in internship programs during university education is crucial for students to ensure a successful academic experience and to develop expertise in their respective fields. Nevertheless, this year, it has been noted that students are facing challenges in securing internship opportunities as a result of the pandemic.

Within this scope, through our project initiated with the principle that "Internships should not hinder graduation" internship opportunities will be provided to senior students in undergraduate programs at public institutions, organizations, and the private sector.

Within the scope of the project, in the short term:

Providing support to students who are facing difficulties in finding and completing internships due to Covid-19.

In the long term:

Expanding internship opportunities beyond technical departments that require mandatory internships to all departments,

Making internship opportunities in the public and private sectors accessible to all university students,

Supporting equality in accessing career prospects through a transparent, trackable, and innovative evaluation method,

Providing university students with the opportunity to closely familiarize themselves with public institutions and their activities,

Expanding the opportunities for internships in the public sector,

Facilitating the connection between public institutions and young talents,

Increasing the visibility of public institutions among university students,

Enabling the private sector to access the "intern pool" created by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office, which tracks candidates' performance from high school to the senior year of undergraduate studies, thus making it easier to reach talents from every corner of our country,

Aiming to alleviate the challenges faced by our national and international firms, as well as the SMEs and start-ups that are the backbone of our economy, regarding the talent gap.

Who Can Apply?

All students who are advancing to their final year in undergraduate programs and four-year colleges offering formal education, with a GPA of 2 or higher on a 4-point scale (or equivalent in other systems), are eligible to apply for the Internship Mobilization program.

Evaluation Process of Candidates

Applicants applying for the internship program will be assessed by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office’s Assessment and Evaluation Department based on their performance from high school to the final year of undergraduate studies, the efforts they have made to enhance their competencies, and their achievements, rather than an exam-based method measuring immediate performance. This method covers three main areas: Professional Competencies, Social and Artistic Competencies, and Athletic Competencies. Within each category, candidates' knowledge, skills, and competencies will be scored based on specific criteria.

Placement of Interns in Institutions

As a result of the evaluations, candidates who are eligible to enter the intern pool will be determined. The access to this pool, created by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office, will be granted to public institutions, organizations, and voluntary firms in the private sector. These institutions can select candidates studying in relevant departments from this pool and offer internship positions. Applicants will then be able to choose among the offers from public institutions, organizations, and private sector firms that are suitable for them.

Applications Through Career Gate

Applications for the Internship Mobilization will be available between July 20 and August 3, 2020, via kariyerkapisi.cbiko.gov.tr.
